About the Story

‍Isle Over Matter is a romantic comedy-drama graphic novel based on the award-winning short film Friendzoned Island (2019). Clay, a college student, wrestles with his feelings for his close friend Maya. Conflicted and uncertain, he questions himself: Do I like her? Why am I afraid to let her get close? As these emotions wage war within him, Clay retreats to a beach he has known all his life—a place of solace where he can reflect on his troubles in peace. However, the unexpected arrival of a nameless stranger adds jet fuel to the fire.
